Integrating Nutrition Into
Healthcare
Why Nutrition Access Matters
Food insecurity and limited access to nutritious foods contribute to rising rates of chronic health conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, and hypertension.
For many individuals and families, maintaining a healthy diet is difficult without reliable access to fresh fruits and vegetables.
Programs that connect healthcare and nutrition help address these challenges by improving access to healthy food and supporting long-term wellness.
ProduceRx was created to help bridge this gap.

Pathway to Health Through Nutrition
Healthcare Partnerships
ProduceRx is designed to work in partnership with healthcare systems to address food insecurity and nutrition-related chronic conditions through medically supported nutrition access.
The Timmons Foundation is currently engaged in discussions with healthcare organizations to explore collaborative models that integrate fresh food access into patient care and chronic disease management.
These discussions include conversations with a regional healthcare organization in Delaware, regarding the potential development of a ProduceRx cohort program that would connect eligible patients with fresh fruits and vegetables as part of their care plan.
Through healthcare partnerships, ProduceRx helps bridge the gap between clinical care and nutrition by allowing providers to identify patients who would benefit from improved access to healthy foods and connect them with community-based resources.
